Summer Intern
Lisa Lamb joins Early Milestones Colorado as a Summer Intern, driven by a passion to learn about and engage with policy frameworks that foster attainable, equitable, and high-quality early childhood living and learning environments. A scientific observer at heart, she is excited to bridge daily childcare magic with big-picture systemic solutions.
Lisa brings 18 years of comprehensive, grassroots experience to her work in Early Childhood Education. Her deep commitment to and knowledge of the field are reflected in her professional trajectory, having served as a volunteer, intern, and lead teacher before stepping into executive leadership as the founder, Director, and Expansion Director of Shining Mountains Montessori School in Buena Vista, Colorado. Since 2022, she has co-designed an innovative partnership with her local town and a housing developer to build a 0–6 childcare center right inside a workforce housing neighborhood. To discover how her policy work can positively and directly impact ECE, she is thoughtfully returning to the classroom floor to serve as Assistant Director and Classroom Co-Lead.
Lisa is currently completing her Master’s of Science degree in Early Childhood Education Policy at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She is also pursuing an AMI Assistant to Infancy Diploma from the Montessori Institute Denver, holds an AMS Early Childhood Credential, and earned her bachelor’s degree in German from East Carolina University.
When she isn’t studying or teaching, Lisa finds joy in quiet moments of childhood observation and mountain life with her partner, Kirt, and their pets. She loves to travel, connects deeply with strangers’ creative spirits, and hopes to find time to complete sewing and furniture-refurbishing projects.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
