Ramanathan
Project Manager
Sowmya Ramanathan is a Project Manager at Early Milestones, where she supports several ongoing initiatives, including the Impact on Equity Initiative, the Rural Care Network, and other research and communications projects. Previously, she served as a Senior Research Fellow at Amoofy, exploring the use of artificial intelligence as a tool for storytelling and discourse analysis. She has also worked as a professor of Hispanic Studies, teaching courses on feminism and social movements in the Americas.
Sowmya earned her B.A. in Sociology and Spanish from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2012 and a Ph.D. in Spanish & Portuguese from Princeton University in 2021. Broadly, she is interested in sustainable caregiving, the role of culture in systems change, and hemispheric approaches to social justice, with the goal of breaking down existing silos.
Outside of work, Sowmya enjoys spending time outside, listening to live music, and immersing herself in creative projects that keep her on her toes and inspired.
