Summer Research Associate

As a Research Associate, Elex Simbeck works closely with the Director of Research to support Early Milestones’ efforts to inform early childhood policy and systems in Colorado with high-quality data and analysis.

She received her B.A. in Psychology and Creative Writing from Vassar College. Now a developmental psychologist-in-training, Simbeck brings expertise in the effects of childhood adversity on neurocognitive development and the well-being of parents later in life. She earned her M.A. in Developmental and Child Psychology from the University of Denver, where she is currently pursuing her Ph.D. with emphases in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience, Advanced Statistics, and Policy.

Elex is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys exploring the landscapes of the Southwest with her partner and their dog, Zia. She enjoys activities such as mountain biking, camping, hiking, backpacking, skiing, and paddleboarding whenever possible.
