In early 2023, Colorado passed HB22-1295 which created Local Coordinating Organizations (LCOs). These LCOs currently support the implementation of Colorado’s new Universal Preschool Program (UPK). Long term, they will help families access many early childhood and family support programs.
To help LCOs be successful, Early Milestones partnered with the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) to provide ongoing training and support for LCOs. Topics included planning, data use, and connecting them to one another as they build and launch UPK across the state.
