About Us

Early Milestones Colorado is a nonprofit organization that brings expertise and innovation to complex early childhood systems. Our goal is simple, yet ambitious: to make Colorado the best place to raise a child. Our staff consists of highly motivated self-starters who are committed to the success of the organization and who work both independently and collaboratively with outstanding results.

Early Milestones is dedicated to the principles of equal employment opportunity and seeks diverse perspectives, experiences, and skills to enhance our culture and fulfill our core values. We strongly encourage people of color, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and non-binary people, veterans, parents, first-generation immigrants, those who were first in their families to attend college, and individuals with disabilities to apply. We are committed to inclusive, barrier-free recruitment and selection processes and will be happy to work with applicants requesting accommodation at any stage of the hiring process.

Our Staff Core Values

Early Milestones Colorado seeks diverse perspectives, experiences, and skills to set the tone for our culture. An important part of our culture are these core values that describe the way we aspire to work – with each other and with our partners – on our path to achieve our mission to advance success for young children across the state.

  • Supported and Supporting: We help each other and act on behalf of the entire organization, beyond just our own responsibilities. Not only do we want to grow and develop ourselves, but we want to support others in their journeys to do the same. Key to supporting all is a commitment to inclusive practices.
  • Culture of Learning and Flexibility: We are never done learning. We always seek to make improvements and share our expertise. We remain humble about what we don’t know, curious about new possibilities, and willing to explore alternatives. We are flexible in how we approach our work, which includes responding in a ready manner to changing circumstances and expectations.
  • Constructive and Positive: Collaboration is key to our success. We choose to assume our colleagues are operating to the best of their ability and are acting with the best intentions.
  • Maintain Balance and Create Fun: We recognize the importance of whole-person wellness and invest time and effort into making our workplace an enjoyable place to be. Children learn through play, and so do we!
  • Honest and Straightforward: We listen attentively, speak candidly, and treat others respectfully. We acknowledge when we have made a mistake, even when doing so is awkward or embarrassing.
  • Personal Responsibility: We choose our own actions and take responsibility for how we think, feel, speak, and act. We are tenacious about voicing our conviction while being respectful and aware of differences in life experiences and opinions. Once a decision is determined, even if we disagree, we commit wholly.
