Meg Franko


Director of Research & Policy

As Director of Research and Policy, Meg is focused on producing and communicating knowledge that will advance innovative programs, practices, and policies for Colorado’s youngest children.  Prior to joining Early Milestones, Meg was Research Associate Professor with the Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW) and Director of Research and Evaluation for the Butler Institute for Families at GSSW. She has served as Principal Investigator on a wide range of early childhood programs, systems, and workforce evaluations in Colorado and across the country. Previously, Meg conducted the cross-site evaluation efforts for Colorado’s early childhood councils at the Colorado Department of Education and directed the Denver Early Childhood Council. 

Meg holds a B.A. from Kenyon College, an M.S. from the Heinz School for Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Denver. She is also a long-time member of the American Evaluation Association.

When not working, Meg enjoys taking daily walks with her two dogs, singing with the Voices Rock choir, knitting, and spending time with her husband and two grown children.
