Angela
Rothermel

Deputy Director

In her role as Deputy Director, Angela supports the overall growth, development, and execution of Early Milestones’ research, practice, and policy work. Prior to joining the team in 2021, Angela spent eight years leading and managing state-facing advocacy in California as Director of Early Childhood Policy at Children Now. Angela also has experience advancing policy and systems for young children and families in various Colorado roles, including directing the Early Childhood Partnership of Adams County and coordinating collective impact efforts related to youth success, early childhood education, and mental health in Adams County. She worked directly with families and early childhood educators as a home visitor, through a Head Start Policy Council, and as a facilitator for both the Expanding Quality for Infants and Toddlers and the Parent/Family Leadership Training Institute.

Angela holds a master’s degree in educational policy and practice from the University of Colorado Boulder, and a B.A. from Middlebury College in Vermont.

Angela lives in Louisville with her husband and daughter. She’s a fan of mellow hikes, abstract art, and yin yoga; and she is always on the lookout for the Front Range’s best bakeries.
