Research & Policy Intern

In his role as Research and Policy Intern, Gerardo leverages the research-policy-practice model to advance equitable access to pre-kindergarten education. He works within the research and policy team to identify and promote innovative and sustainable solutions that support Colorado’s youngest children and their families.

Gerardo is currently pursuing an M.P.H. with a concentration in health systems, management, and policy at the Colorado School of Public Health. He began his policy-focused career through a Capitol State fellowship with the Colorado Latino Leadership Advocacy and Research Organization (CLLARO). He continued his research with the Governor’s Office of Community Engagement, where he focused on health and education disparities in rural communities. Gerardo also holds dual B.A. degrees in international affairs and ethnic studies from the University of Colorado Boulder.

During his free time, Gerardo enjoys playing and watching soccer, spending time with his family and friends, and traveling.
