NEW! Colorado’s Early Childhood Workforce 2020 Plan
Colorado’s Early Childhood Workforce 2020 Plan provides an ambitious roadmap to ensure a comprehensive professional development system that promotes a high-quality, effective, and diverse early childhood workforce for Colorado.
Teachers are a significant contributor to children’s healthy development. Yet, many communities still lack an effective, consistent workforce in whom families can place their trust and with whom young children can thrive.
It is time for Colorado to prioritize ways to attract and retain talented professionals in early childhood. Our goal is to develop sustainable and varied approaches to support a well-qualified and diverse early childhood workforce throughout the State.
We are researching the workforce and developing the State’s Early Childhood Workforce 2020 Plan. Under the guidance of the Early Childhood Professional Development Advisory and Early Childhood Learning Commission, the plan will focus on better ways to recruit, retain, compensate, and develop professionals to ensure a strong early childhood workforce for Colorado’s young children and families. We will test sustainable approaches to strengthen the workforce in communities across the state and ensure the spread of best practices by sharing our learnings.
